Sir I am most earnestly to entreat you for your lawful
favor for an old man One Thomas Grindon now a prisoner
in your jail upon an arrest of respondent for the escape
of certain prisoners being bound with others to diverse
sheriffs, none of the sureties are called to answer but he
only, so that if he should put in sureties to answer, the whole
would light upon him. I doubt not of your care of the old
man, as also if it would be pleasing to you to take sureties of
him for his true imprisonment myself will be one, I would
be loath to move you to your loss but shall rest much in your
debt for your favor towards my good friend, and thus with
my love to you do humbly take my leave Stafford
this 6th July 1604
Yours assuredly
Hugh Beeston:/
