Dearest
father) I have received your kind, and fatherly letter: kind in that thereby
you advertise me of things necessary for maintenance which I was to receive,
and according to your letter have received; fatherly in that you by a fatherly
admonition command a reformation of a thing amiss, to wit, the form of my
writing, which if I had known before I could easily have altered, and hence
forth will daily show that I can easily change it, neither will I thereby any
more show a barren invention. Thus fearing lest with my prolixity I may molest,
your more serious cogitations, or incur your displeasure, giving you hearty thanks
for that I have at this time received, & with the remembrance of my humble
duty unto you, I humbly take my leave, and rest.

Oxford the 22th
of April. 1622:/
Your dutiful and obedient
son. William Bagot./
